As Holland Residential began breaking ground on their latest multi-family property development in the Reed’s Crossing Neighborhood in South Hillsboro, Oregon, they asked Incubate to name and brand the new real estate property. The Reed’s Crossing neighborhood is an impressive mixed-use master-planned community, focused on the ideals of New Urbanism, which highlight modernism, environmentalism, walkability, and community as key drivers. With these ideals as our starting point, Incubate dove into researching the diverse history of the area and the surrounding ecosystems for additional conceptual inspiration.
We named the new development – Savanna. Savanna as a name, reflects the beauty and history of this region, where rolling hills of prairie grass and majestic white oaks once flourished. The name has a feminine charm that blends the classic and the contemporary. Additionally, Savanna evokes the colors of green and gold, the spaciousness of nature, and the warmth of wood—all elements that are incorporated with the property’s modern interior design.
Once the naming process was complete, Incubate connected and designed the branding and identity system for the building. The new Savanna brand has a modern yet elegant and timeless aesthetic with nods to both the traditional and the natural. The branding was brought to life through a 17-page brand guidelines book that highlights the brand’s positioning statement, the new Savanna logo, recommendations for logo usage, the brand colors, textures, typography, and branded collateral references.
